Assign, roll, deliver, close
A run sheet written from memory has the windowed stop at the end of the day and the run two hours over the limit. Building it from the stops, the stop time and the drive time shows how long the run is before the truck leaves, and the driver gets a sheet that fits the day.
A whiteboard in the office cannot be read from the road and does not know which truck is empty. The board lists every run with its driver, truck, loads and stops, and its status moves from assigned to en route to delivered, so the question 'who can take this load' has an answer in seconds.
