Every figure here comes from the figures you enter and the method stated beside it: your trucks, your stops, your stop and drive times, your drivers and their days off. Where a sheet takes a public figure as its ceiling, the federal hours-of-service driving limit for instance, the page names the source and the date it was read.
A dispatching app is the board on the driver's phone: their runs for the day with the stops in order and the windows, the status they move as they go, and the run sheet they would otherwise have been texted at six in the morning. The driver opens today's run
The stops in order with the windows, the loads, the truck. The run sheet was built by the dispatch schedule from the stops and checked against the driving limit before it was assigned.
The status moves from the road
En route at the first stop, delivered at the last, exception when something goes wrong, with the time it happened. The dispatcher sees it on the board without a call.
The run closes and the sheet is filed
When the last stop is delivered the run closes and its sheet is filed against the driver and the truck, which is where next week's roster and the fleet's stop-time figures come from.
What a dispatcher asks before using the Dispatching app
Is there an app to download?
No download: Runsheetly runs in the phone's browser and can be pinned to the home screen. The driver signs in, sees their runs and moves the status.
Does the app track the driver's location?
No. It records the status the driver moves and the time; it does not read the phone's location. GPS tracking is telematics, a different product with hardware in the cab.
Can a driver see other drivers' runs?
No. Each driver sees their own runs; the dispatcher sees the whole board. Pro is one price for the whole fleet.
